Villa dreams of lifting Champions League

Barcelona superstar David Villa has revealed he can think of nothing else than beating Manchester United this weekend and getting his hands on the Champions League trophy.

The Spanish striker has hit 22 goals this season after swapping Valencia for Barca last summer in a £35m deal – and Villa wants to write his name into the history books by scoring the winning goal against Sir Alex Ferguson’s side.

The 29-year-old has netted three times in the Champions League this campaign as Pep Guardiola’s side have swept aside all before them to set up the showpiece final at Wembley on Saturday.
Now Villa wants to end the season with a memorable strike to secure European glory for the Catalan giants.

“All I have in my head is lifting the cup,” he told Spanish news agency EFE.

“I came to Barca to play games like this – it would be a dream for me to score and become part of history.

“The team is training well and we are feeling good on the pitch. Above all, we want to get the win over Manchester United.”
