የኢትዮጵያ ኦርቶዶክስ ተዋሕዶ ቤተ ክርስቲያን የደርግ አልነበረችም፤ የወያኔም አይደለችም፤ የቅንጅትም አትሆንም

የሚኒሶታው ደብረሰላም መድሃኔዓለም ቤ/ክአብርሃም ሰሎሞን ግንቦት ፫/፳፻፭ ዓ.ም.
መለያየት ይብቃ፤ ገለልተኛ ሆኖ መቀመጥም ይቅር። ቅዱስ ሲኖዶስ አንድ ነው፤ መንበሩም ያለው ኢትዮጵያ ነው። ሃያ ዓመታት ያስቆጠረው የመለያየት ግድግዳ ይፍረስ፤ ከኢትዮጵያ ኦርቶዶክስ ተዋሕዶ ቤተ ክርስቲያን ጋር አንድ እንሁን። ልጆቻችንን አንድነት እንጂ መለያየትን አናስተምራቸው፤ አባቶቻችን ያቆዩልንን ሥርዓትም አናጥፋው። የኢትዮጵያ ኦርቶዶክስ ተዋሕዶ ቤተ ክርስቲያን ከእራስዋ ልጆች ፓትርያርክ ለመሾም የወሰደባት ጊዜ ምን ያህል አድካሚ እንደነበር እናስብ፤ የተከፈለውንም የጊዜ፣ የገንዘብ፣ የጉልበት እና የሕይወት መሥዋዕት አንዝንጋ። ወ.ዘ.ተ. በማለት የደብረ ሰላም መድኃኔዓለም የኢትዮጵያ ኦርቶዶክስ ተዋሕዶ ቤተ ክርስቲያን ካህናት አባቶችና መምህራነ ወንጌል አብይ ጾም ከመግባቱ በፊት በነበሩት ተከታታይ ሳምንታት በአውደ ምሕረት ላይ ስብከት መስበክ ከጀመሩበት ጊዜ አንስቶ “ቤተ ክርስቲያናችንን ለወያኔ አሳልፈው ሊሰጡ ነው።” የሚል ዜና አልፎ አልፎ ከመሰማቱ ባሻገር በሚኒሶታ ውስጥ ባሉ የመገናኛ አውታሮች፣ በድረ-ገጽ፣ በኢሜል እና በጽሑፍም ሲሰራጭ ቆይቷል። በተለይም በሰሞነ ሕማማት ጊዜ የጌታን ነገረ ስቅለት እያሰቡ ሰዎች በጾም፣ በጸሎት እና በስግደት ሳምንቱን እያሳለፉ ባሉበት ወቅት የካህናተ ቤተ ክርስቲያኑን ፎቶግራፍ በድረ-ገጽ ላይ እና በኢሜል ላይ አውጥቶ “እሪ በል ሚኒሶታ ቤተ ክርስቲያንህ ለወያኔ ሊሰጥ ነው” በሚል ቅስቀሳ ጽሑፍ መበተኑም አይዘነጋም፤ ሁኔታውም እጅግ ያሳዝናል።
ከላይ በርእሱ ላይ እንደገለጽኩት ማንም ሰው እንደ ኢትዮጵያ ኦርቶዶክስ ተዋሕዶ ቤተ ክርስቲያን አባልነቱ ሊቀበለው የሚገባው ጉዳይ እና እውነታ ቢኖር የኢትዮጵያ ኦርቶዶክስ ተዋሕዶ ቤተ ክርስቲያን የደርግ አልነበረችም፤ የወያኔም አይደለችም፤ የቅንጅትም አትሆንም የሚለውን ኃይለ ቃል ነው። ምክንያቱም ቤተ ክርስቲያን ዘመን ተቆጥሮላቸው የሚያልፉ የፖለቲካ ድርጅቶች ወይም የመንግሥት አካሎች ሳትሆን ዘላለማዊት ናትና። ሐዋርያው ቅዱስ ጴጥሮስንም ጌታችን አምላካችንና መድኃኒታችን ኢየሱስ ክርስቶስ ስለ ቤተ ክርስቲያን ሲያስተምረው፦ ጴጥሮስ አንተ አለት ነህ በአንተ ላይ ቤተ ክርስቲያኔን እሠራለሁ፤ የገሀነም ደጆችም አይችሉአትም ብሎ ተናግሮታል። አንግዲህ ጌታችን ቤተ ክርስቲያኔን እያለ ከተናገረና ካስተማረን ስለ ምንድን ነው ቤተ ክርስቲያንን ለወያኔ ሊሰጡት ነው እየተባለ አባላቱን ግራ ማጋባት የተፈለገው? ቤተ ክርስቲያን ያዘነ የሚጽናናባት፣ የደከመ የሚበረታባት፣ የወደቀ የሚነሳባት፣ ንስሐ የሚገባባት፣ ቅዱስ ሥጋው እና ክቡር ደሙ የሚሰጥባት በአጠቃላይ ነፍስ የሚድንባት እንጂ የምድራዊ ፖለቲካ የሚነግርባት እና የእነእገሌ ድርጅት ናት የምትባል አይደለችም።
ቅዱስ ዳዊት አእምሮ ያለው ክቡር ሰው እንደሚጠፋ እንስሳ መሰለ ብሎ እንደተናገረው ተነጋግረን መግባባት ስንችል ውይይትን እንደ ጦር ፈርተነው “ከተነጋገርን እንለያያለን፤ እንበታተናለን” በሚል ፍራቻ ገለልተኛ እንደሆንን እንቀመጥ ማለቱ አግባብ አይደለም። እኛ እንደ ሰውነታችን “ከተነጋገርን እንግባባለን፤ እንስማማለን” ብለን በማሰብ ለውይይት መቀመጥ ይኖርብናል። ከቤተ ክርስቲያን ሕይወት የተለየ አመለካከት ከሌለው ሰው በቀር መንፈስ ቅዱስ ሆይ አንተ እርዳን ሕፃናት የሚያድጉባት፣ ልጆች የሚማሩባት፣ ሃይማኖት የሚሰበክባት እና ፍጹም ኦርቶዶክሳዊት አስተምህሮ የሚሰጥባትን ቤተ ክርስቲያንህን ልንሠራ ተዘጋጅተናልና በአንዲት ቤተ ክርስቲያን ውስጥ ልዩነትን አጥፍተን በአንድነት የምንጓዝበትን መንገድ አቅናልን ብለን በተሰበረ ልብ ለውይይት ከተቀመጥን ከሳሻችን ዲያብሎስ ያፍራል፤ እግዚአብሔር በግብራችን ይደሰታል። አላማችን ግን የፖለቲካ አመለካከትን ከቤተ ክርስቲያን አመለካከት ጋር አንድ አድርገን እናራምዳለን ከሆነ ሁለት የማይገናኙ ሐሳቦችን ለማገናኘት እየተሞከረ በመሆኑ ድካማችን ከንቱ ይሆናል፤ ጥረታችንም ይመክናል። ዓለም በምድራዊ ፖለቲካ ትመራለች፤ በዓለማችን ውስጥም ፖለቲካ የእራሱ የሆነ መንገድ እና ግንዛቤ ኖሮት በትምህርት ታግዞ ብዙኻን እየሠሩበት ይገኛል። በመሆኑም ፖለቲካ በቦታው መልካም እንደሆነ እናምናለን፤ ተቃውሞም አይኖረንም። በየትኛውም ቦታ ያሉ አካላት ግን ቤተ ክርስቲያንን የፖለቲካ ድል ማግኛ ሊያደርጉ አስበው ከሆነ ትክክለኛ መንገድ ላይ አለመሆናቸውን ሊረዱት ይገባል። ምክንያቱም በኢትዮጵያ ኦርቶዶክስ ተዋሕዶ ቤተ ክርስቲያን ፖለቲካ እና ጫማ ቤተ ክርስቲያን ውስጥ መግባት የለበትም።
ኢትዮጵያ ለጠላት ያልተንበረከከች አገር እንደሆነች ታሪክ ሲያስተምረን ቆይቶ በርስ በርስ ጦርነት ግን ስትጠፋ አየናት። የኢትዮጵያ ኦርቶዶክስ ተዋሕዶ ቤተ ክርስቲያንም ባለ ታሪክ ሆና ከሐዋርያት ጀምሮ ትክክለኛውን መንገድ ስትመራ ቆይታ አሁን ዘመን ሰለጠነ ሲባል ልጆቿ ከሰላም ይልቅ ጦርን ከአንድነት ይልቅ መለያየትን መርጠን የአገር ውስጥ እና የውጭ ሲኖዶስ በማለት ተለያየን። ቤተ ክርስቲያንን መደበቂያ አድርገው ፖለቲካቸውን ለማስፋፋት የሚሞክሩትን ሁሉ ልብና ኩላሊትን የሚመረምር አምላክ መልሱን ይሰጣቸዋል። በቅንነት ቤተ ክርስቲያን ተገፍታለች ልናድናትና ልንደርስላት ይገባናል ብለው ለተነሱትም እግዚአብሔር ያግዛቸዋል። የሰው ዝምታ ፍርሐት መስሎ ሊታይ ይችላል፤ የእግዚአብሔር ዝምታ ግን ያስፈራል። ለቤተ ክርስቲያን አምላክዋ ነውና ቤተ ክርስቲያን ስትገፋ ዕለት ዕለትም ስትታወክ ያለ መልስ ዝም አይልም። እግዚአብሔር ሲወረውር አይታይም ሲጥል ግን ይታያል። የሰላም መድረክ እንዳይፈጠር ስምን ደብቆ በብዕር ስም መዋጋት አይጠቅምም። ሁላችን ከአንድ ገበታ ቆርሰን የበላን ወንድማማቾች እና እኅትማማቾች ሆነን ሳለ እንደ ጠላት ልንተያይ የምንዘጋጅበት ወቅት መሆንም ባልተገባ ነበር። በቤተ ክርስቲያን ውስጥ በግልጽ ካልተነጋገርን በየትኛው ስፍራ ተወያይተን ወደ አንድነት እንመጣለን? አንተ ማነህ? አንቺ ማነሽ? እናንተስ ማናችሁ? እኛስ ማነን? ሳንደባበቅ በገሐድ እንወያይና ቤተ ክርስቲንን የሰላም ቤት እናድርጋት።

ሐዋርያው ቅዱስ ጳውሎስ በገላትያ መልእክቱ ነገር ግን እርስ በርሳችሁ ብትነካከሱ ብትበላሉ እርስ በርሳችሁ እንዳትጠፋፉ ተጠንቀቁ። ያለው ቃል እንዲፈጸምብን አያስፈልገንም። ጌታችን በወንጌል እንዳስተማረን እንደ እባብ ልባሞች እንደ ርግብም የዋሆች ልንሆን ይገባል። ልባሞች ብቻ ሆነን የዋህነትን ሳናክልበት ከቀረን አስተዋይ እንደ እኛ ከየት ይመጣል በሚል ትዕቢት እንወድቃለን። የዋሆችም ብቻ ሆነን ሥርዓት ሲፈርስ፣ ሃይማኖት ሲጠፋ፣ ፍርድ ሲሳሳት እና ፍትህ ሲመዘበር ዝም ካልን ቤታችንን እናፈርሳለን። በመሆኑም እርስ በርሳችን ስንነካከስ እንዳንጠፋፋ እግዚአብሔር መንፈስ ቅዱስ በሚመራት ቤተ ክርስቲያን ውስጥ ከጸሎት ጋር የተሰበረው እንዲጠገን፣ የተበላሸው እንዲስተካከል፣ የተጣመመው እንዲቃና እና የተለያየው አንድ እንዲሆን በውጭ ሆነን ሳይሆን በውስጥ ገብተን ተሰልፈን ቤተ ክርስቲያንን ወደ ቀደመ ክብርዋ እንመልሳት። ይኽም ማለት በውስጥዋ አባት እና ልጆች ተከባብረውባት፣ ወንድማማቾችና እኅትማማቾች ተፈቃቅረውባት እንመልከታት ማለት ነው። ቀርበን ሳንወያይ በስማ በለው ብቻ አንተ እንዲህ ነህ፤ አንቺ እንዲያ ነሽ ብንባባል የሰይጣን ዲያብሎስ መሳለቂያ ከመሆን በቀር ሌላ አንዳች ነገር አናመጣም። እውነት ገንዘባችን ሃይማኖት ከሆነ ስለ ምንድን ነው በቤተ ክርስቲያን ውስጥ ለውይይት ቀርበን ችግራችንን ተነጋግረን ቤተ ክርስቲያንን ለተተኪው ትውልድ በፍቅር ለማስረከብ የማንዘጋጀው? ነቢዩ ኢሳይያስ ከትውልዱ ማን አስተዋለ? ብሎ የተናገረው ቃል በገሐድ ሲፈጸም እያየነው ዛሬም የኢትዮጵያ ኦርቶዶክስ ተዋሕዶ ቤተ ክርስቲያን ልጆች ብቻ በእኛ የርስ በርስ ችኩቻ አዛውንቱ፣ ወጣቱ እና ታዳጊ ሕፃናቱ በመናፍቃን ሲወሰዱ እየሰማን ብቻ ሳይሆን እያየንም ባለንበት ሰዓት የእነእገሌ ሐሳብ እኛን አያሸንፈንም ተባብለን በእልህ መንገድ ስንጓዝ ቤቱ ባዶውን እንዳይቀር ያስፈራል። ሁለት ሰዎች ሳይነጋገሩ ተፈራርተው ብቻ ያኛውም መጣብኝ ብሎ ወደ ኋላው ሲያፈገፍግ ይኽኛውም ያጠቃኛል ብሎ አስቦ አካባቢውን ሲለቅ ምድሪቱ ብቻዋን ያለ ሰው ቀረች ይባላል። እኛም ተፈራርተን የእኛ ሰዎች እነእገሌ ብቻ ናቸው ስንባባል በመሐል ሃይማኖታችን፣ ፍቅራችንን እና አንድነታችን አጥተን እንኖራለን።

ስለዚህም የቤተ ክርስቲያናችን ሽማግሌዎች አሁን ወቅቱ ልዩነትን አጠንክራችሁ የምትሰብኩበት እና የምትነጋገሩበት ሳይሆን በቀሪው ዕድሜአችን ለወጣቱ ምን እናስተምረው የምትሉበት በመሆኑ በምትገናኙበት ሁሉ ስለ ሰላም መክራችሁ ቤተ ክርስቲያንን የሰላም መድረክ ለማድረግ ተዘጋጁ። ሐዋርያው ቅዱስ ጳውሎስ በኤፌሶን መልእክቱ በቁጣችሁ ላይ ፀሐይ አይግባ፥ ለዲያብሎስም ፈንታ አትስጡት። ብሎ እንዳስተማረን በቁጣችሁ ላይ ፀሐይ አይጥለቅባችሁ። የቃሉ ምስጢር ጠዋት ጀምበር ሲወጣ የተጣላን ማታ ጀምበር ሳይጠልቅ በአንድ ቀን ውስጥ እንታረቅ ሳይሆን ሞት መጥቶ ሳይወስደን እና ለዘላለም ጀምበር ሳይጠልቅብን እንታረቅ ማለት ነው። ስንቶች አባቶቻችን፣ እናቶቻችን፣ ወንድሞቻችን እና እኅቶቻችን የጥሪያቸው ቀን ደርሶ ቤተ ክርስቲያን እንደተለያየች ጀምበር ጠለቀባቸው!!!! ይኽ ሊያሳዝነን ይገባልና አሁንም ልባሞች ሆነን በዚሁ ትውልድ ወደ ሰላም መንገድ እናቅና። የዕድሜ ባለፀጋ አባቶቻችን በዚህ ነገር እርዱን። እንባችሁ እንደ ራሔል እንባ ፀባኦት የሚደርስ እናቶቻችን ከጸሎት እና ከልመናችሁ ባሻገር የቤተ ክርስቲያን ውስጥ መለያየት እንዲወገድ በየቤታችሁና በያላችሁበት ተነጋገሩ። የእምነት ጽናታችሁ የሚለካበት ሚዛን የሚሰፈርበት መስፈሪያ የለውምና። ወጣቶች ሁላችሁ እንደየዕድሜ ደረጃችሁ የመለያየት ነገር በቤተ ክርስቲያን ውስጥ ምን ያህል እንዳቆሰላችሁ ታውቁታላችሁና ምንም እንኳን መንገዱ አልጋ በአልጋ ሆኖ ያረማምደናል ብለን ባናስብም ለዘመናት ተለያይተን ያመጣነው ነገር ስለሌለ ቤተ ክርስቲያንን ሌላ አንዳች ነገር ሳንጨምርባት እንደ ቤተ ክርስቲያን ብቻ ተመልክተናት በቀኖናም፣ በሥርዓትም፣ በዶግማም፣ በዶክትሪንም አንድ ሆነን መራመድ የምንችልበትን ጉዳይ አጥብቃችሁ እሹ። ሕፃናቱ በእጃችን ስለወደቁ የሕፃናቱን ነገር እኛ እናስብላቸው፤ ያልተለያየች ቤተ ክርስቲያን ተመልክተው በጳጳስ ተባርከው ይኑሩ። ይኼንን ባናደርግላቸው ለውደቅታቸው ምክንያት እኛ መሆናችንን አንዘንጋው። አገራችን ኢትዮጵያ ፈተና ገጥሟታል፤ ልጆች ሞተውባታል፣ የንጹሐን ደም ፈስሶባታል፤ በእስር ቤት ውስጥ ያለ ፍርድ የተዘጉ ኢትዮጵያውያን ሞልተውባታል። ለዚህና ይኼን ለመሳሰለው ሁሉ የቤተ ክርስቲያን ልጆች እናዝናለን። ሆኖም ከችግር ለመውጣት ከቤተ ክርስቲያን አንድነት ተለይቶ ለብቻ መሆን መፍትሔ አያመጣም። መለያየት የሥጋ ሥራ ነውና እንደ ኢትዮጵያ ኦርቶዶክስ ተዋሕዶ ቤተ ክርስቲያን ሥርዓት እንጓዝ። ይቆየን!!

  1. ንቁም በበህላዌነ! አዎን ቤተክርስቲያን የወያኔ አይደለችም! ከወያኔ ጋር አንሆንም ማለት ግን ወያኔ የቤተክርስቲያንን አመራር ተቆጣጥሮ ፓትርያርኳን አባሮ ቤተክርስቲያንንና እግዚአብሔርን ሳይሆን የራሱን አጀንዳ አስፈጻሚና ጠባቂ በማስቀመጡ፤ በቤተክርስቲያን ላይ፣በአገርና በኅዝብ ላይ ብዙ ጥቃት ሲደርስና ቤተክርስቲያን ስትደፈር፣ ምእመናን ሲታረዱ፣ገዳማትና አድባራት ሲቃጠሉና ሲታረሱ፣ ከአጥፊውና አስጠቂዋ ጋር በማበር የዚህ ሁሉ ግፍና በደል ተሳታፊዎች በመሆናቸው እነዚህን አባቶች አንቀበልም ማለት ነው። ከቤተክርስቲያን እንደተለየን አድርጎ መቁጠር አንድም ሆን ተብሎ በዚህ በተስፋፋ ጉበዔና የእግዚአብየር ምስጋናው በበዛና በደመቀ አገልግሎት መኃል የምእመናንን መለያየት ለመፍጠር አልያም ነገሮችን ሁሉ ካለመረዳትና ከብስለት ማነስ ነው ሊሆን የሚቻለው። እንደእውነቱ ከሆነ ይህ ጽሑፍ የአልሸነፍም ባይነትና ግትርነት መገለጫ እንጂ አገር ያወቀውን እውነትና የቤየተክርስቲያን አመራር በወያኔ እጅ ውስጥ መሆኑን እና አለመሆኑን የማስረዳት አቅም የለውም ሊኖረውም አይችልም። የኢትዮጵያ ኦርቶዶክስ ተዋህዶ ቤተክርስቲያን ስለአገርም ያገባታል፤ስለህዝብም ያገባታል! እንዲያማ ባይሆን ኖሮ ከላይ በጸሑፉ ውስጥ እንደተጠቀሰው ‘የቀደመውን ያባቶቻችንን ሥርአት’ የምንለው ባልነበረም ነበር። የአባቶቻችን ሥርአትማ አገርን የሚያፈርስና የሚከፋፍልን መሪና ወራሪ መገሰጥና ማውገዝ ነበር፣ እንኳንስ ራሷ ቤተክርስቲያን ተነክታ ቀርቶ ድንበር ሲገፋና ኃይማኖት ለዋጭ ባእድ ወራሪ ሲመጣ ኅዝብን የምታስተባብር ለኃይማኖቱና ለአገሩ እንዲሞት የምትቀሰቅስና የምትሰለፍ ነበረች። ዛሬ የኢትዮፕያ ድንበር አልተነካ ይሆን? ዛሬ የቤተክርስቲያን ቅጽር፣ ገዳማትና አድባራት አልተደፈሩ ይሆን? ይህንንስ እየገሰጹ ያሉ አባቶች ኢትዮጵያ ውስጥ ይኖሩ ይሆን? ለምን ይዋሻል? ? ? ደግማስ አሁን ምን ተገኘና ነው? ምንስ ተሻሻለና? የሰላምና የእርቅን መንገድ አፍርሰው መለያየትን ካመጡና በመለያየት ከጸኑ ጋር ህብረት መፍጠር ነው እንዴ ክርስትና? የትኛው ወንጌል ነው እንዲህ ያለው? ታቦት ከጣዖት ጋር አንድነት እንደሌለው ነው ታላቁ መጸሐፍ የሚነግረን። ይልቅስ ከልብ ለቤተክርስቲያን ቀናዒ ከሆንን ከገዳማቸው ከተፈናቀሉት መነኰሳት፣ በግፍ በአህዛብ እንዲታረዱ ከተደረጉ ክርስቲያኖችና ካህናት ሰማእታት ጋር፣ ስለኢትዮጵያ አንድነት ሲሉ፣ስለቤተክርስቲያን አንድነት ሲሉ ሰማእታት ከሆኑ ጋር በአካልም በመንፈስም አብረናቸው እንቁም። በቀረውስ ይህች ደብረሰላም ቤተክርስቲያን የሐተታውን ጸሐፊ ጨምሮ ዘወትር የምናስቀድስባት፣ የምንቆርብባት፣ ልጆቻችንን የምናስጠምቅባት ፍጹም የተዋሕዶ ቤተክርስቲያን ስለሆነች አንድነቷን እንጠብቅ። ማንም ከዚህች ቤተክርስቲያን አንድነት የሚበልጥ የለም! ቤተክርስቲያኗም አንድ ሆና የቆየቸው የዚህኛውም የዛኛውም አመለካከት ያላቻውን ምእመናን አንድ አድርጋ የያዘች ስለሆነች ነው። ችግሩን የፈጠረው አሁን ስልጣን ላይ ያለው ወያኔ እንጂ ምእመናን አይደሉም። ችግሩ ሊፈታ የሚችልበትን መንገድም የዘጋው ይኸው ኃይል ነው። ስለዚህ እንኳንስ ትልቁን መለያየት ልንፈታ ይቅርና ይህችውንም ቤተክርስቲያን አንድነቷን እንዳናፈርሰው ያሰጋል። ይህ ደግሞ በተለያየ አካባቢ እንዳየነው ለቤተክርስቲያንም ለምእመናንም ለአገርም የሚበጅ አይደለም። እኛ ያልነው ካልሆነ ሁሉም ይጥፋ የሚለውና አንድነትን ለመበተን ወደኋላ የማይለው ላገርም ለህዝብም ግድ የሌለው ለቤተክርስቲያንም የማይራራው ወያኔ ብቻ ስለሆነ የተገለጡት ስጋቶች ሁሉ ከየትና በማን እንደመጡ ስለሚታወቅ ስለሆነ ሳይቃጠል በቅጠል እንዲሉ ወያኔን በጠበልህ ማለት ብልህነት ነው። በርግጥ አንዳንድ ሰዎች የሰዎችን ስም በማንሳት የግል ህይወትና ስብእናን እያነሱ መሳደብና መጻፍ አጸያፊ ነው። ዋናው ጉዳይ ግን ያብዬን እከክ ወደእምዬ ልክክ አይነት በቤተክርስቲያን ውስጥ ያለው ፖለቲካ የወያኔ እንጂ ሌላው አይደለም። ውይይት መልካም ነው ነገር ግን ኃይማኖት በሰዎች ዘንድ ሊወደዱባት ሳይሆን ሊጸደቅባት የሚያምኗት ስለሆነች እውነትን መቀነል ግድ ይላል። እውነቱ በድጋሚ ኢትዮጵያ ያለው ሲኖዶስ የቤተክርስቲያኗ ብቸኛና ትክከለኛ ሲኖሶስ ነው ማለት አመራሩ በወያኔ ስር አይደለም ማለት ስላልሆነ እኛ የምንቃወመው ይህንን በወያኔ ባለስልጣናት የሚመራውን አመራርና አባቶች መሆኑን ሊታወቅ ይገባል። ምንም የመከራ ዘመን ቢረዝም ከአጥፊው ጋር መወገን ከክህደት የሚቆጠር ነው። በዘመነ ዮዲት 40 ዓመት ክርስቲያኖች ሰማእትነትን ተቀበሉ እንጂ ዘመኑ ስለረዘመ ከዮዲት ጎን እንቁም አላሉም። እስከመጨረሻ የሚጸና እርሱ ይድናል! ንቁም በበሕላዌነ!

Dear commentator Abraham Solomon, I sincerely appreciate for expressing your concern and extending your appeal to genuinely concerned elders and all peace and unity -loving followers of the Church ! Yes, the Holy Book teaches us a lot about tolerance, forgiveness, truth, love, peace and hope. I truly believe that all genuinely worried and concerned citizens in general and the followers of the Church in particular should do an at most effort to bring about the result we desperately aspire!!
    However, it is equally imperative to be honest both with our selves and with others if a true and long-lasting solution should prevail. Let me make clear what I mean by being honest :
    1. The very topic of your comment ,” The EOTC did belong neither to the Derg , nor belongs to EPRDF ,and it won’t belong to Kinijit. ” I am not clear with which Kinijit you are talking about. Do you mean Ayele Chamiso’s ( the simple toy of EPRDF) or ….? I am afraid you are either uninformed or driven by excessive emotion . Any way, the point I want to raise is that your naively simplified assertiveness with regard to the relationship between different political systems and the Church sounds wrong or intentionally forwarded. It is wrong and highly misleading to declare that the Church and different political systems such as the Monarchy ,the Derg and now EPRDF have nothing to do messes with each other . Yes, theoretically the Church has nothing to with the activities of the secular palace politics ( the separation of state and church- constitutionally enshrined .) But, in practice, needless to say that the mess between religion and politics is getting uglier and uglier . Dear commentator ,I am sorry to say but I have to say that unless we are capable and willing to admit the very nasty mix of religion and politics going on in our country and come up with an appropriate solution , our concerns remains mere wish full thinking. And that is not good for the desirable solution to tackle our political challenges leave alone overcoming religious hurdles .

    2. You said ,”the legitimate /right synod is in Addis.” Well, that is what you want to believe, and that is up to you. However, I do think you have both moral and religious supremacy to tell the people that they have to believe that those religious leaders ( members of the Synod) are their rightful leaders. I am sorry to say but I have to say that declaring those who have chosen muddling in the dirty political agenda of the ruling inner circle as the legitimate spiritual representatives is absolutely cynical or hypocritical. I do not know how a religious leader ( the Secretary General of the Synod) who sworn in the name of Saint Mary that he has no any information about the troubling monastery (Waliba) and he tried to undermine the removal of the statue of Abune Petros can be said a religious leader with a sense of religious and moral value ! I deeply feel sad about the Church which is being degraded and so is our great religious vales because of those religious leaders who stand firm with the ruling circle that keeps killing the generation with all kinds of infectious means. Dear commentator , I do not think mere citations and re-citations from the Holy Bible and so forth will make any difference unless we are courageous enough to make our preaching/teachings meaningfully relevant to the actual challenge we are facing. As a follower of the EOTC, I sincerely believe our creed is so powerful . But, I am sorry to say but I have to say that the Church is suffering from severe lack of honest and trustworthy leadership. I strongly want to believe that our religious freedom and values will prevail with the prevalence of genuine political system in which political freedom, human rights/dignity and justice would be respected. Believe or not, until then , the ugly if not the deadly mix between religion and politics will continue. I am reasonably optimistic that things will change for the better and those religious leaders who are muddling in the dirty political drama will be judged accordingly!

    I hope you will read and re-read the two comments above so that you are educating your self if you really genuine for the problem of the church it faces.

    To me, you do not seem genuine for many reasons you reason out above. Your empty rhetoric of quoting from the Holy Bible is fake.
    As the saying goes “wusha beqededew jib yigebal” . Thanks prof. Getachew and Ato Kidane and the like so called “intellectuals” ,you are tryinng us to believe the Holy Synod infested by weyane, which more than one third of the arch bishops are from one ethnic (tigre) group. They even said over and over they will establish a synod in Aaxum if a legitimate patriarch returns to Ethiopia. Why you deliberately blind your eye and poison us with your strategic goal? dismantling the diaspora in any way possible. You are a paid weyane, so that is your objective to be slick and look like religious but doing the very card of your politics. You do not have shame.
    Hope members of your church will rise up and liberate them selves from weyane administered church heirarchy.

    Juts to put it mildly you don’t what you are talking about. Please don’t waste your time and others. Everyone knows that not only the EThiopian Orthodox Church but others as well (Muslim, Catholic and Protestant) church leaders have kneeled down before fascist & ethno centric dictators and forgot their spritual leaders. I really don’t want to list down what these have done but I am sure it enough to recall what they did during the red terror and also in the 2005 massacre. No church leader in the world would tolerate such atrocities.

You know why am saying this according to the Bible/EOTC rule there is only one religion one syond and one rule both politican dividing our church into different ethinic and political attitude class.   9. Dear Abraham, What was the cause of all these divisions in our Church? I mean the division among the Church’s fathers? Is that cause of division resolved? Or is it just because the time of division is long and you have lost hope in God? Or do you think that joining the persecutors and the criminals who divided us in the first place is a solution to end the division? You mentioned in your comment about the interference of politicians and politics in the Church. Is it not woyane’s politics and politicians interfered in the Church’s affairs? As person of faith or as christian, how can you say that Abune merkorios is not patriarch and abune Matias is without evidence? Do you have any document that says the patriarch, Abune Merkorios, abandoned his authority? If you think the Church you serve and take part in the holy communion is alienated from the mother church, do you also admit that all the services you have rendered over the years and the holy communion you participated were all in vain and valueless ? When is a Church said to be called separated from its mother Church? Is it because it does not mention names of bishops? ETC…I know you CANNOT answer these questions since the points you raised have nothing to do with the division that created such ugly mess in our historical, ancient and apostolic church and among its faithful. Dear brother, we all eagerly aspire to see the unity of our fathers and our church continue in unison. However, the efforts to bring about this aspiration of millions was dashed by the very power that created the problem in collaboration with selfish and divisive bishops like ‘aba abraham’. This guy divided the diaspora faithful and established his own followers that disobeyed the canon of the Church particularly in Virginia area. How dare you suggested that these kinds of ‘fathers’ who are now on the side of woyane will be our fathers and the ones persecuted will not be? This is absolutely unchristian and immoral. Please do not be a tool to enemies of our beloved Church. One has to weigh ideas and suggestions before forwarding them in public. Though you are entitled to believe whatever you believe, it should not, however, be insult to others directly or indirectly. You need to see your surrounding and the place where you live even if you think you have the right idea. Any way, you now get a good lesson and adjust your position and course accordingly, I hope.

    First let me congratulate you for using your “real name” and come out of your shell! I would like to be very polite and pose a question to you, who said the “Synod” is in Ethiopia? You see, most of the EOTC followers were misled by your kind of an informed Debtera keep quoting from the holy book and try to confuse others. Know we are more than informed to decide on which direction the church as a religious entity should go! We said enough for misleading bandas and undercover weyanes.
    You have not even once mentioned about the church responsibility for the people who is oppressed rather you keep giving us a quote from the bible which I don’t think you ever follow. You see, the church stands with the one who has no help. We heard this rhetoric of let’s bring the unity, peace …….. None sense. If you don’t speak the truth you can’t stand for the truth and that means you can’t handle the truth. Now we all know the truth and it is coming out from every direction. Please do us a favor, the time to misled the general public is about to expire; therefore, don’t dig a big whole you can’t get out off. One last thing please take you can always join the “Synod” or gang of weyane in Ethiopia, but don’t tell us the real synod is in Ethiopia. There is a saying in Amharic “Wushan wusha kalalut ………please finish it as you may know this very well. The bottom line is if your gang of mafia synod is good for you then be it, but don’t tell us we have had this collection of immoral, insensitive liars for the past 22 years.

  12. Ato Abraham and Zehabesha deserve the warmest appreciation for having posted such an inspiring article on an issue of great importance.

    I suggest that the article’s basic theme is to oppose political interference in church matters be it within Ethiopia or elsewhere. From the remarks offered so far, most seem to prefer political intervention. And this is certainly an option, however myopic it might be.

    The notion of political engagement within the Ethiopian Orthodox Church is not new. Whether it was under Haile Selassie’s rule or the ensuing regimes or the Synod operating from abroad, it is well known that they were/are managed by political masters some of whom are full blooded politicians while others are politicians with priestly/monastic garb.

    We have a choice: either we continue allowing politicians to mess around with our spiritual lives or struggle to finally put a stop to such inteference. The latter is what is new in our church.

    “Wey Gud”, a person who does not even have the courage to reveal his name has the temerity to attack others. Please let us have a courteous discussion.

    If you are underestimating our level of understanding of what is written in the bible and what the church situation and how it comes to this deadly divistion, YOU ARE DEAD IGNORANT!!!     As for the discusion you are asking for, that is exactly what the poletical-religion mix devastated. I don’t need to tell you how the discussion between the two synods have failed. ONLY president GIRMA desrve respect, atleast he has show his desire. Otherwise the hopeful peace and unity discussion between the two side fathers was assassinated by weyanes poletics. So don’t tell us poletics have nothing with the church affairs. It is loughable to the muslims let alone for us.

  16. For a person who didn’t take a possition from the two point of views, reading the Abreham’s idea as well as the follow up discussion were very helpful.

    Hoping that his comments were free from guilty concious, I want to thank Ato Abraham for the courage shown by using his real name. I am so sure that the discussion questions put forward will make Abreham and like minded individuals to have a second look on their view points.

    There were a number of good points that was raised on the discussions board. The one thing, I didn’t like was labeling of individuals with opposing point of view. Because Ato Abreham has a different view point, he shouldn’t be called as Woyanie. Please let us focus on idea and refrain from attacking the person.
