The truth is no one knows for sure the names of Archbishops who passed the first round of the election process until the Holy Synod approves the nominations of the Election Committee. What is true, however, is the fact that the Abba Samuel camp is being hit by one allegations after another making it extremely difficult for the Electoral Committee to reach a consensual agreement on recommending him to the Holy Synod. As the Election Committee has stated clearly what matters most in this selection is not the number of people who have nominated a particular Archbishop, but rather whether or not the nominated Archbishop does have what it takes to retain and maintain the traditions of EOTC in a fast changing Ethiopia.
