   This days l wonder what l read on zehabesha web-site and listen from radio kafi station.What Winston Churchil said long ago explains it quite well.”A lie gets half way around the world before the truth has a chance to get its pants.”The truth was our church leaders were verbally tormented,insulted and demonized right in front of the sacred holy place and in the presence of the congregation.Is this the way how to promote their ill political view on innocent fellow Ethiopians?
   Dear writer you can stick to your whatever political beliefs as long do not throw stone at the big majority of Debere Selam Ethiopian Orthodox Church.We patiently and silently wait until our almighty GOD answers our prayers.

2. Brother Kello, thanks for your comment, After i read the top letter how you felt about the Saturday situation, I feel the same way. This young Sunday School kids destroying our church with the elven gang board members with out compassion or mercies. Also some people pushing them behind close the door because they know they are wrong to face the other side or group. First of all who are those pop, i know for sure they steal money from Gogam, and call our church a donkey barn (Barn of a house) I think the forgot it’s a “God House”. 4. For the first time I have realized that these people fighting our Church are actually not politicians. They are just people FILLED with sickness inside of them. If they were true politicians they would set a good forum and different political stages to fight weyne. But them, they CHOSE TO COME TO INSLUT CHURCH FATHERS.    We are not in the same boat.The insulted and demonized fathers are our priests,deacons and invited popes of the Ethiopian Orthodox church leaders.The big majorities are those who refute the idea independence of the church.You clearly will understand the out come in a foreseeable future.I always say to my fellow christian brothers “better to leap towards the right direction than run to the wrong one.”The only correct direction is the way that leads to the synod of Ethiopian Orthodox church.

   Let alone the church fathers, I don’t appreciate when a normal individual get insulted for no good reason. For what happened in our church, however, the primarily faulty parties were Aba HaileMichael and the ten board members who facilitate the situation. Given the tension in our church, any person who has been in that church lately can anticipate the out come of inviting those fathers to our church.

   So far I have been giving both Aba Hailemichael and the ten dictator board members the benefit of the doubt by saying they might be thinking they are doing to the best interest of our church. Now everything comes out to the open. Their plan for our church is chaos, distraction and division. In the last four months, they have accomplished their first goal, whish is disturbing and dividing the congregation. These groups were able to take our peace, harmony and love from our church. Their second plan is to incite some kind of violence between the church members by creating instigating factors like inviting unwell-come church fathers. As they have already notified the legal mediator, their ultimate goal is to take God’s money from God’s church. It is not gone happen…

   As a Christian, I don’t appreciate when anyone being insulted. I condemn what happened last Saturday and Sunday in our church. If these so called fathers ,who insulted our church tried to come back again, I will be part of the
   group who will stop them from speaking. After hearing what they said in their conference, I have no respect to them.
   We are on the last minute of the game, I can’t wait to here the excuse and lies that comes from the group who wants to align with Synod in Ethiopia.

   To sleep well at night, please stop the lies and be true to your religion and God.
   May God be with all or us, specially to those people who are trying to destroy our church.

   This is what you guys fell to realize, you guys are werdet for the history of Ethiopia. I mean how sick and twisted can you be fighiting church fathers instead of the real politicians of the Ethiopian Government. I mean how twisted and narrow minded can you guys be???

   I am one of those people who oppose Weyane and would love to see a different kind of leader in Ethiopia, but I WOULD NEVER DO IT INSDIE OF THE CHURCH. I would not do it by insulting Church monks who have devoted their lives to serve The Church.

    what I happened in Minnestota is reminiscent of what has happened in London Debresion. The head priest Aba Girma as your Aba g/Michael chose to go againist the wishes of the congregation. Elders who built the church from scratch selling Injera and Wot in the freezing cold did every thing to bring peace b/n aba Girma and the elected committee but Aba Girma refused point blank! As it turned out, he had jump in bed with the regime in Ethiopa. Mind you, this was a monk who came into the church as an Asylum Seeker to ther the UK and never missed any demonstration againist the current government.

    Now, to all of you who claim morality about ” abotoche being disrespected” my dear brothers and sisters. be truthful to yourself. As the saying goes respect and you be-get respect! What is so fashionable these days is the chaiotic synod in Addis Ababa is exporting its Chotic managment to the Diaspora. why? largely, the Ethiopian government is hell bent in controlling the Diaspora using churches ( where else do you find a large collection of Ethiopians). At home it is ruling with an iron feast doing what it likes with no one questioning it. The Diaspora is the only threat to the racist and corrupt regime be it financially or in political activism therefore, it is very important for them to dismantle that strength using these technique of emotion and divide and conquer.

    Secondly, the clergies in Ethiopian Orthodox have not caught up with the level of enlightenment of the follower, that is, we no longer accept their nonesense based on their age, job title and cultural norms. We judge them by how they behave, and sadly, the only thing many of the clergies have picked up about modern life is maintaining their self interest. It is shocking to hear Papas after papas having mistresses and children everywhere, amass material and financial wealth, I mean since when has orthodox priesthood become such advocate to wealth and adultery and moral decay while telling the mass ” do as we tell you, not as we do” ????

    Why should we be expected to respect these clergies who disrespect god first and for most and us, the people? The Dogma and Cannon is for all of us not just for them to unleash it on the congregation? The biggest threat to Ethiopian Orthodox is not Thadiso, protestant or Islam but ITS OWN CLERGIES. These blanket call to be under the Ethiopian synod is nothing but a vailed call by the regime to tell us all, that we are under it no matter where, but its very mistaken. we did not leave our beloved country, only for the racist regime to control us in America, UK or any where else.

    When these priests provoke such behaviour in the church, they know precisely what sort of reaction the ordinary god-fearing will have. Some who deared will react agressively and the other will go againist them. Job done, Divide and rule. In London, people who shared so many good and bad times over the years are not even on talking terms,marriages have broken, all over these divisive behaviours of priests. Where are we going with this? Let us think. Those of you who are campainging for the Synod in Addis, please look into your conscious, do you really know what goes on in there or you just don’t care?

    There the game gets changed.

    Just for your info I was touched by what happened last weekend. Since I was not upstairs, I didn’t hear what was said to stop the unwelcomed pops from speaking.

    You raised many meaningless points so I will try to address them point by point.

    Unlike people like you, we give proper respect for our religion and church. The appointment given by the government doesn’t come with our respect. To get our respect, they should demonstrate the quality, character and humility needed for the job. The popes that came to our church didn’t demonstrate any of those. Instead of teaching peace, love and harmony, they spend their time creating division, hate and ungodly behavior.
    You and your group tried to make our issue political in nature. This point doesn’t make sense at all as we didn’t create this problem to our church. B/c you & your group brought this horror on to our church you should come clean with your political motives. You can call us whatever you want, but we stand steadfast to protect our church. Your group action of trying to destabilize & destroy our church is being recorded as the saddest history to our church.
    I don’t want to go to your level by calling you or your group sick, twisted or ungodly. Even though those so called “popes” didn’t have time to remember the period, I want to ask you to pray to God to take you out from this evil plot.

After I listned the 2 bishps speech terorizing people,advising us to split from our friends,advising to open a new church and bunch of nonesones I decided to join the people who say lets remain indpedent. very sad to hear a bihsop a 90 year old man calling the holy church pig barn,donkey place and scaring people that you will smell the smell of bullet if this is in Ethiopia. I thought he came to bless us not proclaime war .if he thinks the church is a pig barn why then he showed up uninvited.

16. Hi Andinet I am also very surprised by the 2 bishop speech, i am one of the group with joining the “Ethiopian Synods”. I was there to learn something new about religious. But what i see heard was hurtful. The bishop suppose to teach us how to work out our problem instead they are preaching about buying a bond, calling our church pig barn, they can tide a donkey in there church, they are human dog they bite me and why don’t you buy another church and go some where. After Saturday i listen all that an professional talk, i quite from this group what they said let’s join the Synod. I got a good idea who they are. I am also proudly join the group with which support Independent group. I am sorry I better remain Independent.
    PS. I am also witness when the pop calls the Ethiopian pop name more than 20 times they also hugged and cheers each other behind the curtain.

17. It is hard to discuss any issue with people who possesses selective listening. People like kebede is disgusted by what was said about a human being but not against our church. Anyone who agrees with those two “church” fathers for labeling our church a pig barn and a place to tie a donkey, should not get any service as it would be degrading to themselves.
    Ignoring all those shameful words against the church and congregation, some people are trying to act as if they care about the church and our religion. Time is almost up guys please ask God forgiveness and let’s move on.
