1. Orthodox is only needed to house and feed at the make shift shelters , the ever growing millions of homeless refugees internally displaced Ethiopians .

   Kesis Belay et al. would have dropped their case (Ye’Oromia bete-kihnet) if “Yikrta teyku” was not a precondition. They know it does not work, therefore they would need something called Ye’wond ber”. The Committee announced that they would not ask “yikrta”, but did not say anything on their next move, or did not repeat the one-month “ultimatum” they gave in their last press statement.
   I am hearing that demonstrations are being planned. That is “mebt”, if it is peaceful and is not hijacked for a different purpose. My choice is “no demonstrations” for security reasons. However, these demos, if they go ahead, should be limited to Addis Ababa and Oromia towns. Demonstrations in Amhara region will only escalate the crisis by dragging the issue into the interface of “biher-haymanot space” with the potential to affect other religions as well.
   Therefore, I would think that, before going to court (which is legitimate!), the church could still wait till the next move of the Committee. My impression is that the Committee is under pressure to quietly back-off from their dangerous adventure they have gotten themselves into.

   • The above comment is withdrawn. I just watched a video in OMN where Kesis Belay and the lawyer giving “Enkwan aderesachihu” wishes for the new Ethiopian year on behalf of Oromia Bete-kihnet. Apologies for my naivete.
