1. የአማራ ህዝብ በወያኔና በኦነግ ምልምሎች ማለትም የራሱ በሆኑና ከአማርራው ውስጥ በወጡ ሆዳም አማራወች ለዚህ አይነቱ የማያባራ እልቂትና ውርዴት ከሚደረግ ሆዳም አማራወቹን እያነቀ ሞቱን የሚመረጥበት ጊዜ ላይ ስለደረሰ ጽሁፉ ትክክልና ወቅታዊ ነው፡፡
   አማራ ከኢትዮጵያዊነት መስመር ወጥቶ ወያኔ ወዳመቻችለት የክልልነትና የአማራነት የጥብቆ ፖለቲካ ውስጥ እንዴት ይገባል ይሉ የነበሩ ጠንካራም ሆነ ደካማ አማራወችና አምራ ያልሆኡ አሷፊ ፖለቲከኞችና ጎጠኖችም ነበሩ፡፡
   አማራ ያልሆኑት እንዲዚያ ይሉ የነበረው በወቅቱ የራሳቸውን የበላይነት እያመቻቹ እንደነበረ አማራው ዘግይቶም ቢሆን ፣አማራው ተጃጅሎም ቢሆን ፣አማራው ከባድ ዋጋ ከፍሎም ቢሆን፣ ያኔ ስህተት እንደነበረ አሁን ተረድቶታል፡፡ አማራወቹ የነበሩትም ቢሆኑ ክተወሰኑት የዋሆች በስተቀር ቡወቹ ለከርሳቸውና ለስልጣንጥም የተሸጡ ሆዳሞች ነበሩ፡፡
   ቀደም ሲል በአማራነት መደራጀት ጠባብነት ነው ይሉ የነበሩት አማራወች አሁን ላይ ቁጥራቸው እየቀነሰ መምጣቱን እየታዘብን ነው፡፡ እሰየው ነው፡፤ የወያኔና የኦነግ ቁማርን ዘግይተውም ቢሆን አሁን ተረዱት ማለት ነው፡፡ በአሁኑ ሁኔታ የአሁኗ ኢትዮጵያ ማንን እየጠቀመችና ማንንስ እየጎዳች ነው ያለችው የሚለውን ጥያቄ ሊመልሰ የሚደፍር የለም፡፡ በምላሱ ጤፍ የሚቆላው አብይ አህመድ ግን በአፉ ምን እይተናገረ በተግባር ግን ምን እየሰራ እንደሆነ ህዝቡቭጠንቅቆ ያውቀዋል፡፡ ስለሆነም ለሁሉም እኩል የምትሆንና አማራን ለይታ የማታስጨፈጭፍ ኢትዮጵያ እውን እስከምትሆን ድረስ አማራው በአማራነቱ ተደራጅቶና ብቁ ሆኖ መገኘቱ ለህልውናውም ለሚወዳትና ለሚናፍቃት የሁሉም እኩል የሆነች ኢትዮጵያም እውን መሆንም ቁልፍና ወሳኝ ጉዳይ ነው፡፡
   ጊዜው ”መጀመሪያ የመቀመጫየን”‘ እንዳለችው ዝንጀሮ ሆኖ መገኘትን ግድ ብሏል፡፡ ፡
   ስለሆነም አማራው በክልሉ በየትኛውም ደረጃ ባሉት የአብይ አህመድ ምስለኔወች ላይ የማያዳግም እርምጃ ከወሰደ ራሱ በክልሉ ውስጥ ጠንክሮ ወጥቶ ከክልሉ ውጭ ላሉት አማራወችም ሊደርስላቸው ይችላል፡፤ መጀመሪያ ክልሉን ከሆዳሞች ነጻ ማድረጉ ፊጹም ሊታለፍ የማይገባው ለአማራ መኖርና አለመኖር ቀይ መስመር ነው፡፤ አድርጎ በነባሩ የነፍጠኝነት አስተሳሰቡና አደረጃጀቱ ዝግጁና ብቁ ሆን መገኘት የግድ ይለዋል፡፡ ያኔ የሀይል ሚዛኑ ፖለቲካውን ይመራዋልና፡፡
   ተረኖቹ ኦሮሙማወችና ወያኔወች ዱሮውንም ቢሆን የሚፈልጉት በሀይልና በጉልበት በልጦ መገኘትን እንጅ ሀቅንና እውነትን አይደለም፡፡ዱሮእንም እኮ የሚገጥማቸው አትተው ነው እንጅ የመፈታተሽ ፖለቲካን የመረጡት እነርሱው ናቸው፡፡ስለዚህ አማራው አሁንም ዝም ቢል ዳግም ይሞኛል፡፤ ተጭፍጭፎም ያልቃል፡፤ እምቢ ብሎ የውስጥ ህዳሞቹን አስወግዶ በራሱ ሀቀኛ ልጆ ቢመራና በዚሁ አግባብም ተደራጅቶ ራሱንና ክልሉን ነጻ አድርጎ ብቁ ሆኖ ቢዘጋጅ በፍልሚያው ያለጥርጥር አሸናፊ ሆኖ ይወጣል፡፤በዚህ የአዙሪት ፖለቲካ ውስጥ የተገፋውና የተጎዳው አማራው ነው፡፡ ሀቅና እውነት ከእርሱ ጋር ናቸውና ሁለቱንም የአገር ነቀርሳወች ያሸንፋቸዋል፡፡

2. አብይ ደመቀንም ሆነ ተመስገን ጥሩነህን ብቻ ከመካከላቸው ለአንዱ ሆዳም የሚሰጠው ትእዛዝ ምንም ይሁን ምንም በቅጽበት መፈጸም አለበት፡፤
   ለደመቀ መኮንን የአብይ አህመድን ትእዛዝ አልፈጽምም ከማለት ይልቅ ጸሀይ ለዘለአለም ሳትወጣ ብትቀር ይሻለዋል፡፡
   ይህንን ያህል ነው አሽከርነቱና አጎብዳጅነቱ፡፤

3. Great idea! This is the way we have to face the very huge and bitter reality of our own disgraceful and deeply painful political culture of falling apart over and over and over and over again!!!

   It is when we feel the unreadable pain because of our own horrible failure that we will be able lift up ourselves and move forward accordingly!!!

   Yes, we have to break the very age-old and miserable chain we are chained with!!! And the chain is the political system stupid and brutal merchants of the politics of ethno-centrism!!! So, let’s not simply remain as the people of story tellers, let’s try hard to be history makers of this century!! And the history to be made is the history of making our dreams for a democratic country a reality!!!

4. A very, very bad idea! You say:

   You cannot achieve independence of the Amhara people by getting rid of Amharas in the prosperity party (PP) and federal and regional governments right now. Even if Amharas in PP have done bad things on the Amhara people until now, you should learn to work with these people to advance Amhara interests. Swallow your pride and anger and get friendly with these people so that you can work through them to hold a uniform position on Amhara question. Without them, the road ahead is bumpy.

   Obviously, as members of PP, people in Amhara PP are controlled by and follow instructions of the Oromo controlled PP leadership. But, without these people, it’s practically impossible or at least difficult to successfully advance Amhara interests. Calling them names, marginalizing them and alienating them from Amhara people will at least make the struggle for independence a long time.

   My suggestion to my Amhara friends who have lost direction is to copy what Jawar Ahmed and co. led did in the last five to ten years. Jawar Ahmed and co. led Oromo movement overthrew TPLF rule because . they infilitrated and finally took over running OPDO by convincing OPDO members and supporters to sidestep their role as agents of TPLF and make room for Jawar and co.to lead the movement. As asked, OPDO silently side – stepped and later on became active anti TPLF force more than Jawar and co. itself. That’s how interst of the Oromo was advanced and find itself in a better place today compared to five or ten years earler.

   Now, what can you, my Amharas friends do? Stop attacking Amhara PP members and try to convince them to stand for Amhara intersts ( I see there are already signs ). Trust me – 98% are easy to convince to advance Amhara interests. The 2% remaining will follow the rest. Even more important is to join PP in millions and erode it from within. That’s how you can move forward. If not, calling Amhara PP as “hodams ከርሳሞችና ወራዶች የአማራ ሹመኞች ስብስብ” will not take you far.

   Don’t listen to activists such as Ermias Legesse and Habtamu of 360 media who pound Amhara PP with all kinds foul talk. That forces Amhara PP to harden its position and take cover in Oromo PP which will make Amhara independence protracted. Thy will feel threatened and stick with PP which might appear to them the only protection they have.

   Simply put, study Jawar and co. tactic and strategyused to advance Oromo interests and apply it selectively as the situation permits to promote Amhara movement. Ask questions such as why is Amhara unable to act in a coordinated manner to achieve its independence despite untold sufferings? Needs leadership. Clear objectives and goals. Plan, etc. etc.

I think you are the latter, but also smell like the former quite a bit. Regardless, you are purposefully ignoring the decades-long pleading that the Amhara people have already done to these so called Beaden/Amhara PP, begging them to do what is in the best interest of the Amhara people. The answer for all of these decades from Beaden has been the same – NOPE! Why you are willfully ignoring this fact is most likely because you are a beneficiary of the current system that is abusing the Amharas and want this system to continue by giving such laughable advice to the Amharas to work with Amhara PP and Oromuma, which are essentially the same (one is the master, the other one is the slave). How you suggest that Amharas take note from their arch enemy and barbaric killer Jawar Mohammad is even more amusing. Anyways, your suggestion will fall on deaf ears of the Amhara people because there is such a thing as being fed up – which is the current state of the Amhara psyche – fed up and ready to fight at whatever cost. Fano is a manifestation of this frustration, and it is only getting bigger as ALL of Amhara is Fano. Amhara is a little quiet now, but it’s this very quietness that the Amhara PP/Oromuma should fear – because it is the calm before the storm.

   For decades, Amhara people have believed that they had leaders in Beaden/Amhara PP and the whole Ethiopian government; since ancient times, Amhara has trusted in government. But the last three decades, and especially these short 5 years of barbaric ethnic genocide of millions of Amharas at the hands of their so-called leaders (including so called Amhara leaders), has led to an anger and frustration in the Amhara that has never been seen before. There is now an awakening and upraising of a new generation of Amharas who will for the first time say that they are Amhara and stand up to fight for the Amhara cause. They will topple the very government that has oppressed them and committed unthinkable acts against them and other innocent Ethiopians for many years. The beautiful and timely vengeance of God against Amhara’s enemies and Ethiopia’s enemies will be enacted by the hands of the Amhara. You just grab your popcorn and watch.

   Thank you for helping us to critically think how to quicken freedom of the Amara people. I feel that freedom of Amaras is also freedom of Oromos. I also feel that that’s why you’re showing us the way.

   Here is a passing correction I want you to make on the name of Jawar’s father. Unlike what you said, his father’s name is Mohammed and not Ahmed. The rest of what you said about Jawar and co. On their tactic and strategy is correct. Again, thank you for highlighting its pertinence to Amara struggle.

   To reiterate some of the points you raised, Jawar and co. have in less than five years achieved what OLF/OLA have not in four – five decades. Armed struggle worked for TPLF/EPLF but not for OLF/OLA. However, mass uprisings, largely peaceful, overthrew TPLF which was armed to the teeth.

   As you said, mass uprisings, even if peaceful, have costs. Jawar says Oromos paid 6 000 Qeerroo lives to overthrow TPLF. Surely the number is exaggerated, but there were costs – much, much lower in human cost than any kind of armed struggle. Economic cost was enormous from which the country has not recovered to this day.

   So, we, Amaras have to focus on peaceful struggle to avoid huge human and material costs. We have to proceed without disrupting economic, cultural and social activities in our region or elsewhere in a serious way. I guess disruptions especially economic alienate the masses and weaken their particiaption without which succeess is doubtful.

   Again as Shegit suggested, what my Amara folks should immediately begin is stone down the harsh criticism (I would say insult and abuse) and work to bridge the gap between differing positions on Amara issues among Amaras ourselves. Let’s start with the few issues we agree upon. Example is the Welkayet -Tegede issue on which the regional government, members and supporters of Amara Beltsegna party (to use Shegit’s acronym PP) and the general population agree. Amara opposition parties (say ANM, AAPO and other parties that support Amara interests) which has similar position on Welkayet -Tegede can hold a day long conference and issue a common statement. Slowly but surely, discussing other issues that concern Amara can follow.

   Stop « KURFIA » politics and engage one another in positive fashion. What we should avoid is competition – except when there is there is election to take office – which cause friction and animocity among Amara forces. Unnecessary competition will make us vunerable to Oromo PP capture and easy to divide and destroy.

   As Shegit says, media outlets such as 360 media that claim to condemn Amara sufferings and want to see their rights respected better advance all inclusive views that bring the Amara people and its leaders (in Amara PP, federal and regional government) and the Amara opposition together than pit them against each other. I’ll add EMS Eletawi which is less critical of the Oromo PP chockhold of the Amhara people. Indirectly, it is encouraging Oromo PP to keep on what’s doing.

   If these media outlets cannot advance all inclusive activism on Amara issues because they fail to realize the damage they have been inflicting on Amaras until now, they should pack up get out of sight. Amharas and other Ethiopians who contribute money to these media outlets, I’m calling you to ignore the endless begging. By donating, you’re doing harm than good to the Amara cause. Above all, don’t wast your time listening to amateurish mumbo-jumbo. It’s divisive dragging our struggle in the mud.

   You didn’t say anything new which I’ve nott heard from my Amhara ffriends.

   My humblest observation is that Amharas are all angry and condemn in unison the atocities being committed against them, but below the surface of this unity, they are in deep division that has made them exposed to forces that want to weaken them further. Given this reality, the question is how to deal with this division.

   My five cents suggestion was : to ” swallow your pride and anger and get friendly with the people (in Amhara PP, officials in Amhara regional local governmentss) so that you can work with them and through them to hold a uniform position on Amhara question.” Even what Amhara as people want is not clear to me. Peace and security, yes, but is there anything beyond? Maybe. Personally, I’ve not heard anything about that. Yodit, if you know, enlighten me.

   As I said in my opinion, my warning for not having real unity is facing “bumpy road” ahead.

   Because there lacks real unity of the Amhara people, what I see is, again, as I said in my opinion, anger and condemnation. That is a reflection of reality, but makes no dint on the suffering. If you read the last lines of my opinion, I have hinted out what might help : “Leadership. Clear objectives and goals. Plan.” Sorry to say, but I don’t see any of that at the moment. It’s the same old, the same old. Rresources are being wated in calling names, exchanging insults and threats tthan using the resource to organize and act together as one people. Look what Yodit says to understand what I’m saying. It’s full of condemnation but no direction.

   A year or two from now, the country will change to a degee never seen in its hundreds of years of history. Amharas are totally unprepared to such an eventuallity. Scholars and activists who’re supposed to charrt out system to prepare Amharas to this change are nowhere to be seen. Anger is consuming them and their response is condemnation which does not take anywhere. I feel that Amharas need serious investigation of their past, present and future. Creating Amharas Studies Association might belp in this regard.

   Yodit! You appear to me very much concerned about the Amhara people. You condemn ANDM and Amhara PP which obviously have not done good to the Amhara people. But, ask one question. WHy is the suffering of the Amhara people never ending? Becuse you’re not really united. That’s where Jawar Ahmed and co. tactic and strategy might help. Study it and apply what’s relevant to your situation. You’re not charged for that. In retur, get your freedom and help us get ours too.

   I bleeds my heart to see the great Amhara people suffer so much becuse it can’t get its act together.

   Your Amhara “friends” are correct, we are angry – but you are wrong, we are not divided, Amhara has never been more united. The only outliers among us are the greedy puppets of Oromuma who are currently in office on the federal and local government level. But not to worry, they will be weeded out soon enough. But the rest of Amhara is united, like I said before, ALL of Amhara is Fano. While fighting the wars that we face ahead of us, Amhara will clean out the cancer that is Beaden/Amhara PP – NOT compromise with it. Your advice to work with these scum is futile as no Amhara in his right mind would take it nor should he. The direction is clear to Amahra, it doesn’t have to be clear to others. But let me help you out, the direction of Amahra is to eliminate Beaden/Amhara PP and fight both the Oromuma forces and TPLF forces to free himself and Ethiopia from both. Amhara will not follow the strategy of Jawar, Amhara will end Jawar himself. And this is not because Amhara is mighty, it is simply because God is. The era of scapegoating the Amhara to gain political and financial power will soon be over for Oromuma, TPLF and their outside conspirators. The time of God’s vengeance against Amhara’s enemies and Ethiopia’s enemies is near. If indeed your suggestions are honest and not filled with biased motives, I appreciate the effort. If not, I still appreciate the effort. Time will tell if your suggestion or mine (and this article’s) will play out. It looks like we won’t have to wait long to find out, but I have a good feeling it’s the latter.
