ጉዳዩ፥ እውቅና የሰጠዎትን ሃምሳ ሚልዮን ዓማራ ድጋፍ በከንቱ እንዳያባክኑ አደራ፣

በቅድሚያ ሰላምና ጤና ከመልካም የስራ ዘመን ጋር እየተመኘሁ ይህን ማስታዎሻ ያዘጋጀሁት ለወራት ኢትዮጵያ በቆየሁበት ጊዜ የዓማራው ሕዝብ ከርስዎ የሚጠብቀውን ተስፋና ያለውን ጥርጣሬ በወፍ በረር ከቃኘሁ በኋላ መሆኑን እንዲአውቁልኝ እፈልጋለሁ።

የዛሬ ዓመት በብዓለ ሲመትዎ ላይ ለኢትዮጵያ ሕዝብ ያደረጉት ንግግር ያላስደሰተው ኢትዮጵያዊ፤ ያልመሰጠው የዓለማችን ማህበረሰብ አልነበረም። ብዙዎቹ ከፕሬዚደንት ኦባማ የበለጠ ተናጋሪ፤ አሳቢና፤ መሪ በአፍሪካ በተለይ በተስፋይቱ ምድር ኢትዮጵያ መወለዱን በመገናኛ ብዙሃን አብስረው በደስታ ዘምረዋል። የሰው ልጅ መፈጠሪያ በሆነችው የኢትዮጵያ ምድር የርስዎ ዓይነት ኢትዮጵያዊ መገኘቱ ብዙ ባይደንቀንም የእኛ በመሆንዎ ድስታችን እጥፍ ድርብ ሆኗል።

ኢትዮጵያ ማሕፀነ ለመለም መሆኗን በነገሩን ሃሳብ መሠረት ለምለሟ ማሕፀን እርስዎን የመሰለ መሪ ለሰጠን እግዚአብሔር ምስጋናችንን አቅር  በናል። በነበረው የፖልቲክ ትኩሳት ምክንያት ብዙዎቻችን ኢትዮጵያ አለቀላት ብለን ተስፍ ቆርጠን ነበር። የኢትዮጵያ ኦርቶዶክስ ቤተክርስቲያን የምህላ ጊዜ ባወጀችው መሰረት በየቀኑ ቤተክርስቲያን እየሄድን ልመና አድርገናል። ቅዱስ መጽሃፋ ‘ኢትዮጵያ እጆቿን ወደ እግዚአብሔር ትዘረጋለች’ ባለው መሰረት እጃችን ወደላይ ዘርግተን፤ በጉልበታችን ተንበርክከን ለወራት ምጥንታ አድርገናል። ፈጣሪም ልመናችንን ሰምቶ በርስዎ ተመስሎ ሙሴን ልኮ ሃገራችንን ከጥፋትና ከመበታተን አድኖልናል።

በግሌ በንግግርዎና ሃሳብዎ ከተመሰጡት ትውልደ ኢትዮጵያዊያን አንዱ በመሆን ድጋፌን ለግሸዎታልሁ። እርስዎን ለማየትና ለመስማት ዘጠኝ ስዓት ነድቸ ዋሽንግቶን በመሄድ የሕዝባዊ ስብሰባ ው (Town Hall Meeting) ታዳሚ ሆኛለሁ። በአጋጣሚ ከፊት ለፊትዎ የመቀመጥ ዕድል ገጥሞኝ ስለነበር ከታማኝ በየን ጋር መሬት ወርዳችሁ በመተቃቀፍ በይቅርታ ስትላቀሱ ሳይ እንባ አውርጃለሁ። በሕይወቴ እንደዚህ ዓይነት መሪ በኢትዮጵያ የፖለቲካ አውድማ ይገኛል ብየ አስቤ ስለማላውቅ በስሜት ከመቀመጫየ ተነስቸ አጨብጭቤአለሁ።  

በኢትዮጵያ ቆይታየ እንደተገነዘብሁት ሰፊ ድጋፍ ያገኙት ከዓማራ ሕዝብ እንደሆነ ያውቁታል ብየ ተስፋ አደርጋለሁ። ከጎንደር እስከ አዲስ አበባ በመኪና ስጓዝ በየከተሞች ያለው ሕዝብ ለርስዎ ያለውን ድጋፍና አድናቆት አይቻለሁ፤ ሰምቻለሁም። በታክሲ፣ ባጃጅ፣ አውቶብስ መናህሪያ፤ ሆቴሎች፤ ምግብና መጠጥ ቤቶች፤ ገበያ አዳራሽ፤ ትምህርት ተቋማት፤ ወዘተ የተለጠፈውን የርስዎን ምስል ማየት ብቻ በቂ ምስክር ነው። የዛሬ ዓመት ዋሽንግተን በሄዱበት ጊዜ በነቂስ ወጦ የተቀበለዎት አብዛኛው አማራው ዲያስፖራ እንጂ ኦሮሞው ትውልደ ኢትዮጵያዊ አልነበረም።

ተጨማሪ ያንብቡ:  በኢትዮጵያ "ኢህአዴግ አስካለ " የመከራ ቀንበር ይኖራል !

ባለው የዘር ፌድራሊዝም አወቃቀር ዓብይ ኦሮሞ ሆነው የአማራውን ድጋፍ እንዴት አገኙ የሚል ጥያቄ ብዙ ሰዎች ያነሳሉ። ለዚህ መልሱ ቀላል ነው። በጥሩ አንደበትዎ ኢትዮጵያዊነትን አግዝፈው ተናግረዋል። የኢትዮጵያን ታላቅነት አወድሰዋል፤ ሃገሪቱ በጎሳ አትፈርስም፤ እንደ ሃገርም ትቀጥላለች፤ ወደ ታልቅነቷም ትመለሳለች ብለው ባደባባይ ሰብከዋል። ዓማራው በኢትዮጵያና ኢትዮጵያዊነት ላይ ጽኑ እምነት ያለውና በጎሳ ፖለቲካ የማያምን በመሆኑ ቃልዎን አምኖ ድጋፉን የሰጠዎት ይመስለኛል። ለሶስት አስርተ ዓመታት ኢትዮጵያዊነትን የሚአስመልስለት መሪ ሲናፍቅ የኖረው ዓማራ በእጅጉ ተደሰተ፤ ደገፈዎትም። ዓብይ ወይም ሞት ብሎ ተነሳ፤ የርስዎን አንደበትና ሃሳብ ወደደ፤ ቃልዎን አመነ፤ ሊከተልዎትም ወሰነ። በኢትዮጵያዊነት ከማመኑ የተነሳ የዓብይ የዘር ሃረግ፤ ሃይማኖትና ጎሰኝነት ሳያሸንፈው ከርስዎ ጋር ተሰለፈ።    

በአንፃሩ የኦሮሞው ማህበረሰብ ዓማራና ሌሎች ሕዝቦች የሰጡዎትን ዓይነት ድጋፍና ፍቅር አልቸረዎትም። ለዚህ ብዙ ምክንያቶች መኖራቸው እንደተጠበቀ ሆኖ ኦነጋዊያን፤ የኦሮሞ አቀንቃኞችና የፖለቲካ ልሂቃን የኦሮሞ የበላይነትን ከመፈለጋቸውና ብሎም ኢትዮጵያ የሚለውን ቃል መስማት ባለመፈለጋቸው ድጋፉን ነፈገዎት። ብዙም ሳይቆይ የመንጋ ፖለቲካ መካሄድ ጀመረ። መንጋው በየክልሉ ችግሮችን እየፈጠረ የርስዎን፤ የዓማራውን፤ የሶማሊውን፤ የደቡቡን፤ የጋምቤላውን፤ የሀረሬውን፤ የዓፋሩን ወዘተ የኢትዮጵያዊነትና የዜግነት ፖለቲካ መውጫ መግቢያ አሳጣው።

አማሮች፤ ሶማሊዎች፣ ጉጅዎች፣ ኦረሞዎች በገፍ ተፈናቀሉ። የመንጋ ፖለቲካ ጥርስ አወጣና መናከስ ጀመረ። ለውጡ ኢትዮጵያዊነትን ማራመድ ሳይሆን ጎሳንና ዘርን ያማከለ ንቅናቄ ሆኖ ተስፋፋ። ሑሉም በሩን ዘግቶ ዘብ ቆመ። በየክልሉና በየጎሳው መደራጀትን መረጠ። ሁሉም እየተደራጀ የክልል እንሁን ጥያቄን በየፊናው አቀረበ። ይህን ዓጀንዳ የሚአራግቡ እጄቶ፤ ቄሮ፤ ፋኖ፤ ዘርማ ወዘት የመሳሰሉ የእግዚአብሔር አርበኞች (Soldiers of Allah) እና ቪጀላንቴ ብድኖች እንደእንጉዳይ ፈሉ። በአቋራጭ ስልጣን ለመያዝ የሚፈልጉ ሃይሎች እንደ ጃዋር፤ ህዝቄል ገቢሳ፤ ዳውድ ይብሳ፤ ወዘተ የመሳሰሉት እነዚህን ቡድኖች በቀጥታም ሆነ በተዘዋዋሪ እየደገፉና እያበረታቱ የርስዎን የዜግነት ፖለቲካ ተገዳደሩት።

ተጨማሪ ያንብቡ:  የብሄር እኩልነት!

በዚህ ሁኔታ ነበር የዘር ፖለቲካ የትሊወስደን እንደሚችል ፍንጮች መታየት የጀመሩት። የመንጋ ፖለቲካ በሻሸመኔ ሰውን ከነሕይወቱ ዘቀዝቆ በመንጋ ፍርድ ገደለ። በተመሳሳይ ሁኔታ በዓማራውም ለምርምር የሄደን ተማሪ በመንጋ ንቅናቄ በአሰቃቂ ሁኔታ ገደለ። በደቡብ የክልል እንሁን ጥያቄ ሳቢያ የብዙ ሰዎች ሕይወት ተቀጠፈ፤ አብያተ ክርስቲያንት ተቃጠሉ፤ የኢኮኖሚ አውታሮችና መዋቅሮች ወደሙ፤ ሰላምና መረጋጋት እንዲጠፋ ሆነ። የሃገሪቱ እጣፈንታ እርስዎ ወደ ስልጣን ከመምጣትዎ ትቂት ወራት በፊት ወደ ነበረው ሁኔታ ተመለሰ። በደቡብ አስቸኳይ ግዜ አዋጅ እስከማወጅ ተደረሰ።

እምነትና ተስፋ የተጣለበት መንግሥትዎ ሕገ አራዊትን ማስቆም ተሳነው፤ የጥፋት ድርጊቶችን እያየ እንዳለየ ማለፍን መረጠ። በድምፀ ተአቅቦ አቋም በመቀጠልዎ የድርጊቱ ተባባሪ እስኪመስሉ ድረስ አዘገሙ። የመንግሥት ሃላፊነት የዜጉቹን ደህንነትና የሕግ የበላይነት ማስከበር መሆኑን የዘነጉትም መስለው ታዩ። መንግሥትዎ ውስጥ ውስጡን እየሰራና እርምጃ እየወሰደ ነው የሚል እምነት ቢኖረንም በቤተእምነት ቀኖና ሃገር ማስተዳደር የማይቻል መሆኑን መገንዘብ የተሳነዎት ሆነው ታዩ።

በሃይል ብቻ ሲታጀብ የኖረውን የኢትዮጵያ ፖለቲካ በፍቅር እና በይቅርታ እንሻገር ፍልስፍና ለውጥ ለማምጣት ማሰብዎና መስበክዎ ሕሊና ያለው ዜጋ ሁሉ የሚቀበለውና የሚደግፈው ነው። በአንፃሩ የዘርና የመንጋ ፖለቲካ ከርስዎ በተቃራኒ የቆመና በግደለው፤ አፈናቅለው፤ ዝረፈው፤ አስወጣው፤ አግልለው ፅንሰ ሃሳብ የተመሰረተ በመሆኑ ከርስዎ ጋር ተጣጥሞ በለውጡ ጎዳን መጓዝ ተሳነው።

ይህ በእንዲህ እያለ ዓማሮች ሲፈናቀሉና ሲገደሉ ዝምታን በመረጡበት ሁኔታ የዓማራው ማህበረሰብ ጥርጣሬ ወደቀ። ዓማራውም የኢትዮጵያዊነት ዓጀንዳን በይደር ገሸሽ አድርጎ ዓማራነትን መስበክ ጀመረ። ኢትዮጵያዊነትና ኢትዮጵያ ባለቤትና ጠበቃ አጡ። ኢትዮጵያዊነት ለዓማራ መስበክና ማስተማር አይቻልም ብሎ እየተኮፈሰ ብሄርተኝነትን አክርሮ ያዘ። ገመድ መሳሳቡ በሁሉም ዘር ሥር ሰዶ አደገ። አሁን አማራው እየተጠቃ ስለሆነ መጀመሪያ መቀምጫየን ላስጠብቅ በሚል እራሱን አደራጅቶ ለሰላሳ ዓመት የተፀየፈውን የዘር ፖለቲካ አራገበ። ትዳር የሚፈርሰው በባለትዳሮች መካከል የነበረ መተማመን ጠፍቶ እርስ በርስ መጠራጠር ሲበዛ ፍቅር ይቀዘቅዛል ትዳር ይናጋል። የዓማራው ወጣት ትውልድ ቀደም ሲል ለእርስዎ የነበረው ፍቅር መቀዝቀዙን፤ በአመራርዎ ላይ የነበረው እምነትና ድጋፍ መሸርሸሩን በባህር ዳር ቆይታየ መገንዘብ ችያለሁ።

በቆይታየ ጊዜ የርስዎን መስተዳደር በቀጥታ የሚአወግዘውን የኦሮሞ ልሂቅ በቸልተኝነት ማለፍዎንም አስተውያለሁ። በአንፃሩ ለርስዎና ለመንግሥትዎ ሙሉ ድጋፍ የሰጠ ዓማራ ሲጠቃ፤ ሲፈናቀል፤ ብሔሩን ለማጥፋት ዘርፈ ብዙ ጥቃት ሲደርስበት እያዩ ዝምታን መረጡ። ምክንያቱ እስካሁን ሊገባን ባይችልም በኦነጎች ቁጥጥር ስር ሆኑ እስከማለት ተደርሷል።

ይሁን እና አሁንም ስላልመሸ ብዙውን ነገር ማስተካከል ይቻላል። ዋናው ከርስዎ የሚጠበቀው የሕግ የበላይነት እንዲስፍን ማድረግ ነው። በዘር ፌድራሊዝም ላይ ቆራጥ የቀዶ ጥገና ዘምቻ እንዲአድርጉ ዓማራውና ሌሎች ሕዝቦች በጉጉት እየጠበቁ ይገኛሉ።

ብዙ ሰዎች በኦነግ አክራሪዎች ስለተጠልፉ እንጂ እንደርሳቸው አስተሳሰብ የሚሰሩ ቢሆን እዚህ ምስቅልቅል ውስጥ አይገቡም በለው ያወራሉ። በእኔ እይታ ሃያ ሰባት ዓመት የከሰረ ፖለቲካ ስለወረሱ የማጽዳቱ ስራ ከፍተኛ ሳንካ እንደሆነብዎት ይሰማኛል። ፕሮፌሰር ብርሃኑ ነጋ እንዳሉት ወያኔን መጣል ቀላሉ ስራ ሲሆን፤ ከውድቀቱ በኋላ ወያኔ ለ30 ዓመት ያበላሸውን የማህበራዊ፤ ፖለቲካዊና ኢኮኖሚያዊ ምስቅልቅል ማስተካከል ከባድ እንደሚሆን ተንብየዋል። እርስዎን የገጠመዎ ችግር ይህ ይመስለኛል።

ያልተበላሽና ያልታመመ የማህበራዊ፤ ኢኮኖሚያዊና ፖለቲካዊ መዋቀር የለም። ሑሉም መድሃኒትና ቀዶ ጥገና ያስፈልገዋል። እርስዎ ደግሞ ሃገር ማስተዳደር ከጀመሩ ገና አንድ ዓመትዎ ነው። በአንድ ዓመት ጊዜ ውስጥ ብዙ በጎ ተግባራትን ፈጽመዋል። በሂደቱም የተበላሹ ጉዳዮች አሉ። እንዚህን እያስተካከሉ፤ ሕዝባችንን እያሰባሰቡ እንዲመሩ ዓማራው በመጠባበቅ ላይ ይገኛል። ዓማራውን በጥንቃቄ ይያዙት። ሙሉ ድጋፍ የሰጠዎት ማህበረሰብ ወደ መደገፍ ወይ አለመደገፍ ምርጫ እንዲገባ አይግፉት። ይህ ማሁበረሰብ ከደገፈዎት ለውጡ ይቀጥላል፤ ከተቃወመዎት የለውጡ ዓጀንዳ ይደናቀፋል፤ ሃገሪቱንም ወደ ክፍተኛ ቀውስ ውስጥ ሊአስገባት ስለሚችል በጊዜ ያስቡበት።

ለጊዜውም ቢሆን አሁን ላለው የኢትዮጵያ ሁኔታ የእኔ ምርጫ ነዎትና ማስተካከያዎችን እያደረጉ ይምሩን። ግን በቁልቁለት ጎዳን መሄድ በሚጀምሩበት ጊዜ የድጋፍ ካርዴን ወደ ሰገባው እመልሰዋለሁ። ድጋፍና እውቅና የሰጠዎትን ሃምሳ ሚልዮን ዓማራ አንዱ በመሆኔ ድጋፋችንን  እንዳያጡ በጥንቃቄ እንዲመሩን ከአደራ ጋር አስታውሳለሁ። አመሰግናለሁ

    I have taken note of your concerns. Here is the crux of the matter: I quote,

    1. (የሕግ የበላይነት እንዲስፍን) is the job of any government, and rest assured that I am doing my best.There is a gap between what I want to do and what I can do.
    2. (በዘር ፌድራሊዝም ላይ ቆራጥ የቀዶ ጥገና ዘምቻ እንዲአድርጉ…) I wish you show me how to go about it. Do I even have the power and legitimacy to do that at this time? Even if I do it, is my “surgery” a sustainable solution?
    3. (ዓማራውና ሌሎች ሕዝቦች) – What is “leloch”? I must tell you that every body (Eskindir, Jawar, Berhane, ABN, OLF e.t.c) tells me “hizbu, hizbu…”, When I ask each one of them “which hizb”, none of them are ALL inclusive. Face the reality on the ground, my friend, the division is stark and it requires an extraordinary approach.

    I am compelled to advise you on the following:
    1. Keep on to be part of the “constructive engagement”.
    2. Refrain from using figures that are not authentic (50 m Amhara), it will lead you to the wrong assumptions and subsequently “wrong action”. (I heard one politician from Wolaita quoting the population as “13 million”).
    3. It is unhealthy for a democratic dispensation, if “50 m” people have the same stance on something. As Prof. Mesfin once said “ke’fabrica endeweta samuna”.
    4. For someone like yourself, living in the diaspora and who understands how a “democratic system” works, it is not normal that you can voice on behalf of “50M” people. It is just reminiscent of the archaic communist rhetoric (saiwokelu le’sefiw hizb malet).

    Please remember that my children are 75% Amhara. I look forward to receiving your positive contribution to bring our peoples together and build a democratic and prosperous Ethiopia.

      It appears that you are an insider of the current regime in Ethiopia as you began to address concerns raised by fellow Ethiopians in the name of the PM. I hope you will also be able to answer my questions. I was a die-hard supporter of Abiy during his first 6 months in office and, in retrospect, I feel I was cheated.

      1) Ethiopian constitution allows political parties to organize on the basis of ethnicity. However, since the incident in Bahirdar, people are arrested for supporting (being members and contributing money) the Amhara National Movement. Why should this party be treated differently? Think about the number of ANM members and leaders who are now in jail and and accused of a crime in the name of the obsolete “anti-terrorism” law?
      2) Why was the PM repeatedly saying that Amhara nationalism is more dangerous than any kind of ethnic nationalism?
      3) Why does PM Abiy consider Eskinder Nega and “Bale Adera” group as no. 1 enemy although these guys simply say that Addis Ababa belongs to all Ethiopians, not to Oromos only or Amharas only? The leaders of this organization are non-violent and each member of the group paid a price to bring the political “change” in the country.
      4) Why does the PM shut up when thousands of Ethiopians are dying at different times, like in Sidama, North Shewa etc, ? In the US where I am living, under these circumstances, the President goes to the media and expresses his sadness, sends condolences to the families of the dead and promises to bring the perpetrators to justice.

      5) Why is Abiy addicted to lying? A case in point is his denial of any knowledge about the sufferings of the Gedeo people in the hands of the OLFites, the uprooting of non-oromo Ethiopians living around Addis, social engineering planned and executed by Lema and Takele in Addis, etc.

      I have many questions. However, I would appreciate if you address the above issues.

        I appreciate your approach for dialogue (not debate!). This Zehabesha platform could have been better used for such kind of constructive discussions; unfortunately it has become an outlet to “score goals”. It is not easy (apologies for the length), but let me try; please read my responses with the corresponding numbers.
        1. You are wright. It is wrong to arrest someone for his/her political view, or without evidence of the crime they have allegedly committed. I assure you Abiy does NOT like it as much as you do, cos the Burdon and the political price is on him. However, take note of these; 1) there are elements in law enforcement who are trying to undermine Abiy. 2) there is shear insufficient professionalism among some of the law enforcement officers (yet many expect them to behave like NYPD). 3) Some people are using ABN or Balderas as a cover to advance their personal material gains; check out what some of the self-proclaimed Amhara vigilantes have been doing by hijacking ABN’s agenda and pushing it to the extreme. 4) Do you know that higher-number of Oromos have been arrested and OLF is crying foul on the same? Or you believe that it is a camouflage (masmesel)? 5) “Do not lose the ball” because of minor setbacks and conspiracy theories, see the big picture. Our courts, human rights commission are being tested on these cases (as you know many have been released!). It will be rectified!

        3. Abiy cannot and does not consider anyone as “enemy” – simply it is NOT in the vocabulary of the people in the area where he was born and raised – Jimma/Beshaha. If Addis Ababa belongs to ALL Ethiopians, which Abiy agrees as well, what is the issue? As you might have noticed, Balderas has escalated its question to constitutional change, “by force if need be” (Ermias in Frankfurt). The Addis Ababa issue, as Prof. Merera said, is a “showdown” of Machoism between Eskindir and Jawar. If you carefully characterize the two, they have a lot more in common (than differences) except that they pull in the opposite directions. One behavioral difference, if I may add, is this: Eskindir is more [consciously] deceptive/disingenuous, whereas Jawar is more direct, blunt, [deliberately] inconsistent and at times emotional. If the two sits down and talk, they would have reconciled before sunset; but believe me, they just DO NOT want to do it – vested personal interests (on top of their “warlord-style fame!”). My advice to you is this; “walk in between the two and put your trust on the silent majority of our peoples”.
        4.You are right in principle. He has done it at the beginning of his days. However, comparing it with the US is not fair; this is one of the biggest problems people in diaspora have. For a US President, it is about terrorist act or natural disaster. Ours is much more complicated than that. Perpetrators are being dealt with as much as possible; maybe it has not been communicated properly. In the Sidama case, it is unfortunate but criminal gangs are solely responsible. Abiy could have sent the army before, but then follows “ye’kililu mengist saiteykew geba”. You see the catch 22 situation? In North Shewa, I can only tell you that it is a corridor for gun smuggling and lots of vested interests for delivery to Amhara farmers. If your assumption is that “OLF is responsible”, you are misled/mistaken.
        5.Now I understand where you come from, but I take it as genuine concern. You see, often it is not about what you believe, but it is what you can prove. What makes you so sure that the perpetrators were “OLFites?” You are told by the activists, wright? Did you compare how many non-Oromos live in Lagatafo, and how many were displaced (proportion)? Do you know that Oromos were also displaced in Lagatafo? Why are you NOT as much concerned for the millions of Oromos displaced from the Somali region, and the vice versa? Did Abiy do any special favor for Oromos displaced from Somali and Benishangul? My point is that instead of politicizing (at ethnic level) such transient events, be part of the grand solution to achieve, “not a single person should be displaced from anywhere”. “Mefenakel”, as sad as it is, there are people who benefit out of it big time. Think about it!
        Abiy may not always be forthcoming as much as you would have liked, BUT, with all due respect, characterizing him as “addicted liar” is not even good for your personality.

        In general, I understand the evolution of your feelings towards Abiy. Even criticizing him where it is due is healthy and should be welcomed. Please do NOT feel cheated; it is just that your expectations, like many, were too high perhaps. Add to that your sources of information. Be reasonable and inquisitive, not “elihegna”. Unless you have some personal vested interest (which I do not believe you do!), or you would like to hear/believe ONLY one-side of the story (which is possible), trust me, Ethiopia shall prevail, Inshallah!

          First of all I thank you very much for the civil response which is contrary to what we usually see on this site. Having said that, I have some reservations as to your statement in which you compared the polite Eskinder on a par with the war monger JO-WAR.           I feel a pity that Eskinder is intentionally/unintentionally misunderstood. The main goal of his organization is to oppose OLFites/OPDOites agenda of making Addis Ababa a city in which the Oromos will be entitled with special benefits (refer to what the five oromo parties and Berehanemeskel, the OPDO cadre assigned as a diplomat in Los Angeles said recently). Eskinder believes that Addis belongs to every Ethiopian irrespective of race/ethnic group and should be governed by its residents (not by people assigned by OPDO/OLF). On the other hand, JO-WAR who was a burden of the American tax payer in Minnesota and now a burden of Ethiopian tax payers (think about the number of soldiers taking care of his security and paid by Ethiopian tax payers) said that, by ballot box or force, Addis will be owned by the Oromos. I have to also say that this same guy, together with the shifta group EJETO, is responsible for the death of hundreds of Ethiopians in Sidama.

          • Thanks Meseret for your response. I think we need not agree on everything (not natural!); it is how we manage the differences (democracy!). The bottom line is neither of the two Machos will get his way. We will find a middle ground that is acceptable to the “silent majority” of all sides. “Ye’Addis Aba newari be’Eskindir aylekam, ye’Oromo hizb be’Jawar aylekam”.

        I am not aware of the “social engineering” plan. However, I would like to be educated how that would be possible to execute even if we assume that Lemma and Takele have a plan [policy support]. Just because some ID cards were given to a few thousands [as alleged] of Oromos? Come ‘on, Addis is becoming hell for low-income people my friend, regardless of ethnic background. I must add that, in order to straighten your mindset, you should acknowledge that Oromos, like any other Ethiopian, have the inalienable right to reside in a place of their choosing.

  3. for the last 28 years, the Amhara had only one option to survive and leave a peaceful life. That option has never been taken so far and time is running out. of course you would ask what this option could be. well it is called all out war against the TPLF and OLF.
